Diversity Mission Statement

The Gateway Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators (“The Gateway Chapter”) is a professional organization comprised of administrative managers and other legal management professionals from private, corporate and governmental legal organizations in the St. Louis Metropolitan area.  The Gateway Chapter embraces and encourages diversity within the legal profession.  We value diversity and those initiatives that promote it and look to partner with affiliated professional legal organizations to advance diversity.  We not only strive to raise awareness, but to increase our sensitivity in the area of diversity and more closely reflect the diversity of our community at large.  Having a more inclusive and diverse legal community will improve the quality of our organization’s workforce and respond to our clients’ requirements for diversity. The Gateway Chapter values diversity initiatives and creates opportunities for diverse business partners to be a part of our organization to advance diversity and raise awareness. Minority-owned business partners typically train and hire from minority communities which strengthens those communities. Many of our business partners are locally owned and include women and minority-owned businesses and our firms utilize those business partners. 

In an effort to spread diversity awareness, we have dedicated this area of our website to Diversity and Inclusion.  We are pleased to provide our members with information on cultural heritage months as well as the various levels of diversity in inclusion.  Please visit our page every month as we will spotlight a new heritage month based on the current year’s cultural heritage calendar. Additionally, we encourage our members to promote diversity and inclusion within their organizations.  Please refer to the Scorecard for Law Firm Administrators for tips to move your organization towards a more diverse and inclusive environment.
