Message from the President
Greetings and Happy New Year! What does a happy year look like to you? Would you like to increase your personal well-being, grow professionally, and succeed in your career? Members should join us for our January chapter meeting. In this interactive workshop you'll learn how physical, emotional, financial and social wellbeing are related, and you’ll gain essential information and practice skill-building activities for adapting well to life changes, transitions and challenging circumstances. In addition, CLE credit will be applicable. Our speaker and facilitator is Connie Fisher, the Director of Mental Health Promotion for Mental Health America of Eastern Missouri. The meeting is on January 17th at The Simon Law Firm. Click here to register now.
Are you looking to develop professionally? The ALA and Gateway chapter are a great place to grow and develop your career path. Through our education, resources and leadership opportunities, you can quickly find success. The more you engage with our chapter, the more opportunities you will have to grow professionally. Contact me or Nikki Cornwell if you are looking to become more involved.
Another way to grow professionally is to become a Certified Legal Manager. If you haven’t heard, Kara Brostron of Lashly & Baer is our latest CLM, passing the exam this past November. In addition, Kara has been appointed to serve as a Regional Representative for Region 3 of the ALA. Congratulations, Kara! Our chapter is now offering scholarships to assist with eLearning courses and the CLM exam. Let us know if you are interested.
One last item to mention which will help you succeed in your career is ALA’s 2018 Annual Conference & Expo taking place Thursday, May 3 to Sunday, May 6 in National Harbor, Maryland at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center.
