DESCRIPTION

How do zip codes indicate luck? This 60-minute presentation examines how where we live determines the resources and opportunities we receive—and how society is designed to keep some people from being "lucky."

After attending this presentation, participants should be able to:

  1. Demonstrate an understanding of the correlation between zip codes and the resources available to diverse groups.
  2. Examine their own attitudes and challenge their own perceptions.
  3. Recognize that change is possible when we look for opportunities to connect to one another and explore solutions together.

PARKING

Parking is available in the Stadium East Parking Garage on any level except yellow (which is reserved). Take the elevator or the stairs to Level 6 (yellow) and go across the bridge into the building. Use the rectangular elevator key pads to push the buttons corresponding to the floor number (for example, press 2 then 0 for 20th floor), then read the display (small rectangular window at the top of the keypad) to see which elevator has been assigned to you. Catch the elevator that corresponds with the letter from the display screen. Please present your parking ticket at the reception area on the 20th floor for validation.
