Message From The President

Message from the President (Diversity & Inclusion. ALA Compensation & Benefits Survey. Violation of Antitrust.)

So I missed my first flight, ever. In the movies… when they run up and the plane inches out of the gate. Yep, that happened. What a feeling in the pit of your stomach. The only thing that awaited me on the other side was a fun girl’s weekend… oh wait… I mean… leadership conference. After 12 hours in the airport we finally made it, only 9 hours late.

Members of our Gateway board and up and comings just returned from ALA’s Chapter Leadership Institute in Fort Worth, Texas. The conference was amazing and we returned with a lot of great ideas to help make our chapter the best.

Diversity and Inclusion is a hot top in today’s firms. Clients demand it, and attracting top talent requires it. ALA has developed a scorecard for law firms that identifies 54 best practices which assists firms to find and eliminate organizational barriers that limit diversity and inclusion. Click here to see what it’s all about.

The ALA Compensation & Benefits Survey participation was extended until August 8th. The Gateway chapter has a local salary survey which came out in May. The headquarters one is great for firms with multiple offices. Participate by clicking here and you can purchase the survey at a discount.

And a reminder that discussions about price, fee or competition is prohibited as it would be a violation of antitrust. If you haven’t reviewed ALA’s Antitrust Guide, please do.

I hope you see you at the many events we have coming up this summer! Doors open… and my phone works.
